Hi my name is Deyna (Dee) Dodds.
A little about me. I’ve lived all across Canada and through this experience I developed a love of learning and exploration. I’ve lived in Edmonton these past fifteen years and have made a very happy home here. I have two children of my own, a son and a daughter, and spend most of my time with family. I’ve been involved with childcare my entire life, from being a babysitter and nanny in my youth, to foster care, to working with Boy’s & Girl’s Club programs, and as a childcare educator in larger daycare and group settings.
I decided to start my home daycare after appreciating how much more one-on-one time I was able to gain with a smaller group of children. The flexibility in planning allows for a larger variety of play options, personalized supplies, and spontaneity as children discover new interests or urges to explore something new. I try to follow the Emilia Reggio approach in my programming, and encourage kids to learn and grow naturally through self-directed play. I value honesty, communication, and balancing a respect for oneself and for others.
